Landscape Planning: What You Need To Know

Calgary landscape design projects are best started off with a design that’s drawn on paper. Your design will serve as as a visual guide of your concept. From there you will be able to determine what would and wouldn’t work on your yard.

As you’re drawing up a sketch you will slowly get a feel of the look you want to have. At this point, keep in mind that the more natural your landscape looks the better. To achieve this you should avoid calculating the distance between each of your plants and scatter the seeds instead. This will be different for planting trees, though you will still want a natural look you must also know how tall and how fast your trees will be growing.

Research on it, this will help you to avoid unexpected turns like having to cut it down because it’s getting too big for your area.

To add some charisma to your yard why not try adding curved borders around your plants. The round shape gives a more visual appeal as compared to a straight, squared look. The curved lines of the borders will help soften the hardscape design of your property.

Now, when you’ve thought of how you want your landscape to look it is then time for you to select your greens. You should choose your plants wisely. You don’t want them to die on you so you should be smart enough to know what they will need. A guide on this will be: amount of sunlight they need, how much water they have and other added nutrients they might need. Peat moss, for example, is a good way to help add nutrients to your plants.

Taking all of these into consideration you should then be able to calculate the cost of your project. This is critical because you want to make sure you are able to finish this project and stay on budget.
