Helping Your Garden Grow

When you have a Calgary landscape design it is not enough to plant your seeds and water them because there are a lot more other factors that you should take note off. Gardening does not only require you to know how to plant but you should also know how to take care of them.

Take weeds for example. Weeds will definitely invade your garden. To take care of weeds right away when you see them sprout up. Weeds can grow very quickly, and they can take over your garden if they are left unattended. It is easier to keep weeds under control when the weeds are still relatively young. Large weeds have deeper roots and are more difficult to remove.

You might also encounter salt deposits. To be rid of them, use a mixture of vinegar, rubbing alcohol, and water and place it in a spray bottle. Spray on the deposits and they will wash away with ease.

Another thing to take note off is that plants need a sufficient amount of CO2 for proper maximum growth. Most plants grow better in higher levels of CO2. The best method to obtain a high amount is to get access to a greenhouse. CO2 levels are best kept high, in order to provide optimal growing conditions for your plants.

If too much heat from the sun is your problem why not use groundcover perennials in sunny areas. Groundcover perennials can be used as an alternative to grass where there is minimal foot traffic, or in an area where grass is difficult to maintain, such as on a slope. They are also handy in between larger perennials, as they help to suppress weeds and keep the soil moist and cool. Good choices for groundcover perennials are creeping thyme, ajuga, various sedums, alyssum and armeria.

Even things you find in your fridge can help. You can use items in your fridge for a safe and organic way to adjust the pH of your water. You can use lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to lower your pH (a few drops at a time) or use baking soda to raise your pH (a pinch at a time checking after each adjustment).

So, if you want to grow a healthy and beautiful garden it would be of much help to know not only the basics but also research on ways to assist your garden grow!
